[Open, Major Event] 12 June 2066

Over the course of the last week, you'll have likely noticed the buzz and excitement that's been building all around Metro Manila -- if you've been around awhile, you know what time of the year it is. If you're new: well, this is an experience you're sure to enjoy.
The festive mood surrounding Philippine Independence Day is hard to miss. Wander around the metropolis and you'll note that the streets are filled with tourists and locals; turn one corner and you'll see parades, turn another and you may be treated to performances set up on strategically placed stages.
As for Falner, the colors of the Philippine flag seem to be everywhere you look: the kids who live or study at the estate are mostly running around with their faces painted. If you wander down towards the Fair Grounds in the South District, there are a couple of booths set up offering anything from body paint and temporary tattoos to local delicacies. West District establishments The King's Rest and Liquidated also have special treats aligned with the theme of the day. There's also talk about the annual street party which will be held over at the Baywalk later this evening, and the younger initiates are abuzz over the yearly light show held over Manila Bay that showcase reenactments of all the major battles all the way up to the Darkest Vigil.
Independence Day is also not all that's being celebrated, because for Keepers of the Vigil and supernatural communities all over the world, today marks the second anniversary of Arcis Fortress City.

The Main Garden.
OTA, early morning until early evening
There is also a permanent light screen close to him, almost as if he's a museum display. It reads: ]
MORNING!!!!!!
So, are you gonna go up to him noooooow? [ That's Madge, his dragon talking. ]
Are you fucking crazy? He's sleeping! Let sleeping dragons lie, and all that.
But he's just theeeeeere. All daaaaaaaaaay. You've been watching him for mooooooonths, when are you gonna come over??
Uh.
Fine, if you aren't going, then I will. I'll just say hi!
[ Madge, lovely dragon that she is, jumps off from her perch on Rin's head and flies over to where Aidan is resting. ]
You little--! Get back here! [ Rin stares in horror as Madge goes off. When she's halfway to Aidan, that's when he sprints over to catch up with her and possibly yank her away, but it's too late. She's already bothering the Voidseeker. ]
o rin
Hello, little one.

[ Rin, a few feet away, groans and covers his face with a hand. Madge, he thinks. Your name. Is Madge, with a hard -dge. God, how hard is it to say that?? ]
You're huuuuge! That's pretty amazing!
[ ...He wants to shrink and disappear, right now. Madge is being embarrassing. Oh god, someone end his life now. ]
That's my Erin James over there, hiiiiii Erin!!
[ Madge is flapping in the air, happily motioning toward Rin, and the next thing he does is dash behind a tree to hide. Uh. ]
no subject
And now he's lifting his head and focusing on Erin. ]
Hello.

Sometime in the afternoon! Have a babbu, Aidan.
Her King has been teaching her how to read but Big Words are still hard. ]
M...Mmm...Maj... [ she knows this word. She's seen it before. ]
no subject
But now, there is an opportunity. ]
"Majestic".
[ Hello, Lyall. Well met, yet again. ]
no subject
Yes though, she is blinking up at you and shyly bowing her head. ]
Majestic... [ she's testing that now. The 'G' and the 'J' confuse her sometimes. ]
Good afternoon... Father Dragon.
[ That's coming out not as soft as her usual ( read: stage-whisper level. ) ]
no subject
[ Tilting head at and smiling. That's a really nice smile for a dragon, by the way. ]
Would you like me to read the sign with you?

late morning
[ Sophie wasn't going to stop by, but the thought she just mentioned to him is there once again.
She's not looking directly at his face, more like, at the whole lot of dragon lying there. It's a lot of dragon. ]
Probably the most awesome and last three seconds of my life, but still...
no subject
Pretty bad, in my opinion. I'm inclined to believe that there are better ways to spend one's last three seconds in the Fifth World.
no subject
[ Sophie's priorities are not to be emulated. ]
Maybe I should start with a smaller dragon though...and maybe I should lower my standards. Friendly grappling with one sounds dangerous enough as it is.
[ Then why is she smiling? ]
no subject
Perhaps you should turn your sights away from dragons in general, unless they happen to belong to renegades.
[ There are other targets out there, young one. ]

sometime in the late morning!
Hey, whatever he contributed to starship building he probably first learned from you. That's kind of a big deal.
He gets distracted, though, by the sign beside you. He takes one long look at it, then bursts into laughter.]
no subject
Your mentor did that. The Malice King mentor, I mean.
no subject
Of course, Father Clayce. I can't imagine dad doing this.
[He turns and smiles.

a little after maybe Rin leaves
Good morning, Father.
[ Yuka gurgles and grins up a the Dragon from her dad's arms. ]
Hahah, Yuka says hi, too.
no subject
[ Mmm, tiny mortals. He loves tinies. =w= ]
I see that you're not with your husband right now.
no subject
I think he's at Baywalk. We decided that we'd both do patrols today, but not at the same time. He lost to me at rock-paper-scissors.
[ As he says that, Yuka reaches out to you, Aidan. Like her dads, she seems to really like you. ]
So he's stuck with morning patrols, I'm going tonight. Which is a good thing because classes start tomorrow and I don't think I can get any sleep.
no subject
Don't they start on Monday?

Early Morning
He'll stand there reading what's written there for a good minute before Temo pipes up from where he was perched on his shoulder. "Aww! I thought there'd be more written down".]
Yeah? Like what? [And he's giving his dragon a rather amused look as he crossed his arms over his chest]
["I don't know. Maybe stuff that wouldn't make him sound like he's a bear or something?" And he jumps at that when he remembered whose presence he was saying that in, then turns to give an apologetic nod. "No disrespect intended, sir".]
no subject
Of course. Good morning.
no subject
Good Morning, Father. [And he's going to sit down beside you as his dragon flutters off his shoulder.] So, I guess you're going to be here for most of the day? Being a 'semi-permanent fixture', as the sign says.
[The last is said with a small grin. It was vastly different from their first conversation years ago, when he had been a new face at the estate, and the big dragon before him had seemed too intimidating a being to approach]
