[closed] I wish it could be sunday when I wake up every day
WHO: Lyall, Rin Faolain
WHAT: Oh, hello!
WHERE: The Great Hall
WHEN: 13 June 2066, Sunday around 1PM
SAFE FOR WORK? Yup!
OTHER NOTES: Babbus meeting -w-
[ Lyall heads to the Great Hall after she finishes up her interview with Lia. She's learned how to tell the time on the clocks now and not rely to much on the angle of the sun outside. When she steps in, she ducks her head and keeps mostly to herself, making a beeline for the food table to see if there are any more of the bread she likes so much available ( croissants, Master Raura had called them. )
There aren't any, but that's alright. She piles some rice shyly on her place instead and goes for the meat before settling down at a table in the far corner away from people. It gives off the impression that she's shy, but if you're particularly smart and observant, you'll note that she's also watching people like she's observing them. ]

Madge has delightfully finished a small bunch of grapes for herself, while he took his time with his meal: meat and potatoes. So much meat and potatoes that he can get seconds or thirds without Aari scolding him for not leaving any for Freyj who's as thin as his violin's bow. Whatever. This isn't that story.
This is the story of a young man whose dragon, the other half of his soul, keeps getting him into trouble after doing just a simple task of retrieving fruit. It starts with an innocent question: ]
Erin, can I go get some more fruit please? Pleeeeeeasse? I'll share this time!
[ Rin gives Madge an appraising look. He's not sure if he should let her go off on her own, or if he should get the fruit himself, but... He's several parts lazy at times, so: ] Ugh, fine, whatever. Just don't embarrass me or bother people.
Yes! I won't, I promise!
[ Which is exactly how Madge, brave and fearless dragon that she is, ends up dropping an orange, a bunch of grapes, and a banana on Lyall. She lets out a squeak and immediately lands at the table the little girl was at, checking her all over. ]
Omigosh, I'm sooooooo sorry!! It was an accident! Are you hurt, did the banana injure you, are the grapes alright??
[ Meanwhile, Rin bangs his head on the table and groans. ]

She had noticed the pretty dragon midway through her meal, but she makes it a point not to stare because she does not want to draw unwanted attention to herself.
Getting fruit dropped on her head though, prompts a low sound of disgruntlement.
But. It is the pretty dragon. And it has bright blue eyes. ]
Um. [ She ( it sounds like a she ) sounds really concerned for the grapes. So Lyall is immediately gathering those up very, very gently and setting them in front of the dragon. ]
I think they are alright? [ Lips pressing together worriedly now. One of them looks a little squished. Was that her fault? ]
no subject
[ Here, Lyall, have a dragon hugging your face because you saved the grapes and put them on the table. You're a hero. ]
Ohh, you amazing, amazing child, you saved the grapes! I'm Match, and you're my hero!
[ The dragon is still happily hugging your face and has rested her head on top of yours.
Two tables away, her other half is dying of second-hand embarrassment. ]
no subject
( Father Dragon is too big, and it normally takes a multitude of children for him to probably feel like he is being hugged, but you're not that large, she gets it. )
Also: she is internally going uwu. ]
Y-you're welcome? [ If that is muffled, it is because you're kind of in her face.
>.> Should she hug you back? She wouldn't want to crush you. She's... kind of bad at hugging. ]
I'm not... I'm not a hero though.
[ MUMBLEMUMBLEMUMBLE. ]
no subject
[ Madge releases you from her hug, eventually, and flies down to the table and tries gathering the grapes-- but they're too much to fit in her arms... and then there's the banana that landed somewhere. But oh, there's the orange, she waddles for that, too. ]
What's your name? I'm Match, and that's my Erin James over there! Would you like a grape? [ ...Because she can't hold all of them now (couldn't hold all of them in the first place which is why she'd dropped them).
Rin, on the other hand, will be coming over now. ]
Sorry, is she bothering you?
no subject
She supposes she could use her coat to... help pick them up? >.> But that might not be proper. She has her hands, in any case.
She'll get that banana now and help with those grapes. ]
No. [ Maybe she should try to smile at him? He doesn't seem... upset? ] It is alright.
[ Ummmm. ] Your dragon -- Match -- she is very beautiful.
[ Was that a good thing to say? .____. ]
no subject
Yes, I can, it's Match.
[ Just gonna shake his head at that. ]
Sorry she dropped all that fruit all over you. She's usually more careful than that. [ He sighs because she usually is, but then you get moments when she turns into a ditz and a klutz and everything is horrible. ]
Eriiiin, she's my hero, she saved the grapes! [ And since Madge is looking at him like she's expecting him to say something about it-- ] Thanks for saving the grapes, I guess. [ He'll hold his hand out for the rest of the fruit now; he's pocketed the orange. ]
no subject
Handing them over now. She's careful of the way she sets them in Erin's hand. ]
It is fine. I am unharmed.
[ Her head feels a little weird, but she has been it by worse. ]
no subject
[ He gives you a smile and... a pat on the head-- he'd do that to his little sister, too. She's older than you are, but hey. Big brothers kinda like patting their little sisters on the head when they do a Good Thing, okay? ]
So, what's your name?
no subject
( If you had met her at the beginning of the year, it might have been different, but her King and Josh and so many others have helped. And others who are too handsy... well, those she avoids for the benefit of all. )
She... smiles back. Shyly. ]
My name is Lyall.
[ uwu ]
no subject
Nice to meet you, Lyall. I'm Rin, and this is Madge. [ They needed a proper introduction, after all.
Madge waves a wing at her, smiling wide. ] You're my hero, Lyall! Thank you!
no subject
It is an honor to meet you, Rin.
[ To Madge... she smiles, if awkwardly. She really isn't a hero, but okay. ]
Mat... Madge is your dragon. [ Saying that softly as she withdraws her hand from yours. ] You are a mage then?
Like Father Dragon?
no subject
[ There's a smile. Yeah, he can be cheeky and ambitious, but that's Rin for you.
He also notes that she's wearing the Balamb uniform. It meant she was studying at Balamb, but... she's so young. Maybe she only looks young? She ages slowly? ]
What about you?
no subject
When he turns the question around though, she blinks.
UM.
Bowing her head now. ]
What I am... [ oh this is awkward. It's not that she's ashamed of what she is, it's that it's not quite as glamorous as what you are, Rin. ] I am an Ogre.
[ She probably needs to expound on that. ] That is my Seeming as a Changeling.
no subject
[ He crouches down so he's at your level. He's still smiling at you, because he can see that you're not comfortable with it. He's read about changelings, knows about them and what happens to them when they get taken by the Fae. It's not... pretty.
He doesn't know Lyall's circumstances, but she's a kid. She shouldn't be sad. Kids being sad are the worst. He should know. He lived in an orphanage with lots of kids being sad half the time. ]
You must be really strong, then, huh? And you can do a lot of stuff better than other kids.
no subject
She actually can't deny the first part... even if she's not so sure about the second. ]
I can fight good? [ She hasn't really thought of it as too much of a good thing. It was a skill she learned to get good at as a matter of survival. ] I do not have the elegance that the junior oni-tsukai do though.
[ Yes, that's a clear note of admiration in her voice. ]
no subject
Erin is gonna learn loooooooots so he can be juuuuust like his idol!
[ Eyeroll. (But she may note that it's the fond sort.) ] Shut up, Madge.
no subject
I hope to do just that.
[ Blinking up at Rin now. ] Will you be going to Balamb as well?
[ He looks right about the age of someone who would. ]
no subject
I'm in the Special Cases program. You?
no subject
I am the same. [ u-u ] Perhaps I will have classes with you?
[ And then at least she will know one more person and not feel so lost. >.> ]
no subject
Which one did you take?
no subject
My Ki-- [ that sounds so strange, let her amend that. ] My guardian agreed to let me take Weaponry for my morning class. I have fought before and know the basics of Self-Defense, but I have no skill with weaponry.
[ She also does not understand Firearms, although it would have been nice to study under Father Dragon's Beloved Rethe. ]
Perhaps I will see you in the classes after?
no subject
Yeah, I got The Fifth World with the Kaiser right after Self-defense. I guess we'll see each other then?[ :D? ]
no subject
Yes! [ u-u Was that too loud? UM. ]
I would like that, very much.
[ .________. ]
no subject
Well, uh... Guess I should leave you to your, um, lunch?
no subject
W... would you like to... join me?
[ You don't have to, but it would be nice if you did. If you are busy though she will understand. ]
no subject
Yeah, okay. I'll just get something to drink. [ Because he left his milk carton at that table and he wasn't done with it, boo. ] You want anything? [ :D? ]
no subject
u-u She is quietly pleased that you will be joining her. ]
I am alright.
[ Translation: she has absolutely no idea what to ask, even were she comfortable actually asking -- which she is not. ]
no subject
I'll go get a juice box for me an' you, then.
