[ And sneaking a glance over at said blade mate before offering another a slightly more tentative smile. New person is new... ]

[He sees Will blinking once at that, before he's walking over to join them with a nod and grin. "Nice to meet you. I'm Will Santander", he's introducing himself before patting Gray on the shoulder. "So! You're that new girl that got noticed by my buddy here?"]

Will... [Shaking his head in exasperation, before throwing a pointed look at his dragon.] This is your fault, by the way.

{Hey! He asked.} [Temo was gesturing to Will as he said this] {And so did Emily and Sipho. And it's not like Lazare didn't notice that from where he was working that night.}

[He'll stare at Temo for a few more seconds, before shrugging as he's taking a seat across from Segan's, with Will following suit.]

[interceptive]

[ Chuckling, although she looks a little sheepish. What does one say to that, ahaha. ;; People, she cannot do too well. ]

Yeah, I guess that's me.

[ And she's moving some of her stuff from off the table. It's only polite. ]

[anteayer]

["Well, seeing as Gray here takes a while to open up to new people, good work on that", and Will's glancing his way as his grin widened. "I swear, he needs to hang out with people more often".]

Well, not everyone can be as sociable as you, amigo... [This is said in a mock dry tone as he's pulling out his phone from his pocket.]

["Or Emily, for that matter. But let's not get to that", Will glances again at Segan. "As Temo here has happily mentioned, we heard quite a bit about you. All good things, that's for sure".

And Gray's taking that moment to glance at his phone to double check that he remembered the address of Inquisitor Vice's penthouse right.]

[interceptive]

[ Well, that was nice to hear. She's relaxing just a little now. Netsach people are so friendly. o_o ]

I suppose I'll just have to live up to those expectations, then.

[anteayer]

[And as he's pocketing his phone, again:]

I suppose so. Just as long you don't burn out from trying too hard. [giving you an encouraging smile there.] But getting back on topic. Which classes did you have for this morning, Miss Brooke? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

["Miss Brooke? Really, Gray?" Will asks him with a bemused look.

Ignoring that as he's facing you curiously.]

[interceptive]

[ The two of you are starting to remind her of two of her brothers.

That's a good thing, by the way. ]

Weaponry and Firearms. I took all of the core theory subjects at Big Rock, so I figured that it'd be best if I brushed up on my combat skills.

[anteayer]

[He nods once after hearing that.]

That makes sense. So that means Inquisitors Shinta and Mordechai are among your teachers?

[He'd looked up the class schedules since he wanted to know when he could head over to see Inquisitor Zobel de Ayala. So, he more or less had a good idea of who was teaching what this year.]

[interceptive]

Yep!

[ ...She really shouldn't look so happy about that, should she? I mean, those are two of the scariest Malice Kings around.

Yes, Segan is Very Strange. Or maybe just incredibly hard-working. ]

[anteayer]

[He's raising one eyebrow slightly at that, and probably put it as her being hardworking. Besides, didn't she come from a town that had survived Grendal attacks for years?

Regarding the two Malice Kings, though:]

Well, I had Inquisitor Shinta as a teacher before. You're definitely in good hands with him. Even if how he teaches at ASC might be a lot different from his classes for regular students.

[Plus, he's a really nice guy.]

I don't know what to say about Inquisitor Mordechai, though. He wasn't part of the faculty while we were still there.

[Have a nod from Will. From Temo:]

{Well, he's your teacher. What's he like?}

[interceptive]

[ Suddenly remembering how she watched Inquisitor LaRue and Inquisitor Shinta interact.

"Nice guy". She can believe it, to a point.

Anyway. ]

He's blunt and thorough. I like his methods.

[anteayer]

{Ohhhh.}

[Temo's nodding at that.]

{So, I guess he really told a lot of people in your class where they needed to brush up on shooting and all? Oh, and was there something else that he added because you're in ASC? Like anything to make it a real challenge?}

[All the while, Gray and Will were listening with interest, with the former also amused by his dragon's constant questioning.

At least, he's slowing down a bit here.]

[interceptive]

Actually, he didn't say much of anything. He only went around, zoning in on people who were lagging behind or who had committed a mistake.

[ He had come over to her, adjusted her footwork, quipped about her aim, and left it at that. Some of her classmates had been worse off, but most of them had been on part with her. ]

[anteayer]

Right.

[Taking a moment to glance at the direction of the entrance, before facing you again:]

How about the rest of the day? I'm guessing you got one or two more classes left on your itinerary along with your patrol hours?

[interceptive]

Oh, I'm free a little before 8 today. Last class is C&S.

[ Yes, she even has the Netsach Hunter School linggo down pat. "Combat & Strategy". ]

Why do you ask?

[anteayer]

No particular reason. I'm just curious.

[He won't mention that you happen to be one of the newcomers at Falner that he'd like to keep track of. You left a good impression on him when they last met.]

But yeah. I hope you got stuff to keep you occupied before then.

[interceptive]

I... guess I do?

[ Ehehe. ]

I figure that I'm just going to cool my heels off for a bit, and then hit the books.

[ All the Studying! ]

[anteayer]

["That sounds very familiar", Will remarks as he's casting a glance and a smirk at Gray's way.]

Keep talking, Will, and I might just decide to give you a little bit of bad luck for today.

["Yeah, yeah. I hear you", the man said dismissively with a wave of his hand, before eyeing you again. "So, it's just studying? Nothing else lined up?"]

[interceptive]

[ Shaking her head at that. ]

I might jog a little before dinner, or put in a quick workout. I don't want to tire myself out too much before C&S, though.

[ She's heard that sometimes they do field simulations. Better safe than sorry, right? ]

[anteayer]

That's probably a good idea.

[At that moment, Temo promptly perks up when he spots something. Gray and Will soon follow his gaze to see that two men and one woman (all familiar faces to them) had just arrived at the Great Hall. One man was clearly African by his appearance, while the other two looked to be Filipino like Will.

"Huh. There they are. I guess we can start working out what to do today", Will says before glancing at him. "Pare?"]

You go on ahead, Will. I'll be right over in a bit.

["Sige. Just don't take too long. We still got to work out what's our plan for tomorrow, too".]

Because of the party. Yeah, I know.

["Right", and Will's glancing over at you as he holds out one hand with a grin. "Well, it was nice to meet you, Segan. Hope to see you around. And maybe you'll get to know the rest of us Minnows as well".

Gray, meanwhile, is rolling his eyes at the mention of that nickname for their blade.]

[interceptive]

It was nice to meet you too!

[ He's... nice? Which is really cool, in Segan's book. ]

Minnows, huh?

[ A little teasing as she turns back to Gray. ]

[anteayer]

[He's smiling sheepishly with a shake of his head, before glancing over at Will as he's jogging over to meet their blademates.]

It's just one of a few nicknames that got tagged onto our blade. But frankly, I think I'd prefer Mino to Minnow, especially since it still sticks to a bird theme. [Glancing back at you.] We're actually called the Minokawa.

Rolling Intelligence + Occult just to see if she's learned about it: 1 success.

[interceptive]

[ Blinking at that. Minokawa... she's seen that name around before? Minimal details though ]

I don't think I've read about the myth behind that before. Can you tell me more?

[ Because more learning = always good. ]

[anteayer]

Sure.

[And his smile takes on a more helpful note as he nods back, before pulling out his tablet to load up something.]

The Minokawa is a giant bird found in Bagobo mythology, said to be as big as an island. Everyday, it would chase after the moon to try and eat it. And if it succeeds, it brings about an eclipse.

[Even with the Breaking of the Veil, myths like that were still interesting to read up on.]

The way they described it apart from its size was pretty impressive, too. A steel beak and talons, mirrored eyes, and each one of its feathers likened to a sharp sword.

[Ah. There we go.

He's handing his tablet to you after finding an article on that dragon.]

[ Listening intently to that, because she really, really loves learning about this sort of thing. Who knows when it could end up important, right?

Then, when you hand over your tablet, she's taking with a grateful nod and reading. ]

So what made you guys decide to take that as your blade name?
