[ Perhaps she will tell you one day, how it was such a relief to see you in class, and that you have made her morning so much brighter by taking the seat beside her.

Have a nod, Rin as she smooths a hand on the corners of her book. It got bent a little in her bag and she wants to see if she can straighten it out. ]

I am trying. [ Speaking is easy. Reading is difficult, but her King has been teaching her and Josh acquired her some books. This text however, is long and the writing is small. It's a little bit overwhelming. ]

[ He looks up just to make sure Liandrin isn't zoning in on them (although, Mastigos), but what he's doing (or about to do!) is for the benefit of learning! So he's sure she'll forgive him. Somehow. ]

Where do you need help? [ He's asking this as he's moving his chair and desk closer to Lyall. Because he can...not do the whole telepathy thing yet :( ]

[ That question is so loaded, Rin. ]

There is just... so much. [ It's really just that the text is so terribly imposing. ] I am not sure... what the "Fourth World" is.

[ The Fifth World is supposed to mean today, here and now, correct? Forgive her, she still feels a little lost given her time in Arcadia. She has no "reference point", so to speak. ]

Hmm... [ He thinks on how to word this, hold on. ]

Well, think of it as something before this World started? Millions and millions of years ago. Before-- before the dinosaurs.

[ ... ]

What are... dino...saurs?

[ She's blinking up at you like a confused kitten now. ]

[ He blinks.

Oh my god she's serious. ]

Uh.

Wow, right. I'm totally gonna be your study partner for everything ever, okay? I'll take you to a museum sometime to show you what dinosaurs are.

For now, maybe we should, uh, focus on the reading. [ Because while learning about dinosaurs is important, he's also pretty sure he shouldn't derail and distract the readings for the class. Which the Kaiser is teaching. ]

[ She has no idea what a myoo-see-yum is, but if you want to take her to wherever that is, she trusts you and she will go. After she asks for permission from her King.

She's turning back to her readings now though and looks back down on the page that discusses the "Fall from Grace": the discovery of the Void which led to the end of the Fourth World. ]

[ Rin actually... scoots back to his desk. Madge, though, flies over and sits on yours, but away from the text. When she speaks, it's in a whisper (who knew she could whisper, right?) ]

Hi! I'm here to help you read, Hero! Which part are you having a hard time with?

[ M-Madge... u-u She really isn't a hero but okay. ]

I am... I do not know what this is. [ She's pointing to choice words: the Void, the Fourth World. What does that even mean? ]

[ Rin looks back at you, every now and then, because he wants to make sure Madge is doing what he told her to do. Which she sort of is.

Madge is reading out the passage for you, though. Then pauses when you point out the words. ]

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. [ Dragon is now staring (or glaring) at the words on your text. ] Eh, it's not important, all you need to know is Aidan Clayce is the Voidseeker, and then he ended the Fourth World. But he survived and made it to the Fifth World and he's so awesome now. [ She is so helpful, isn't she. Is she doing good, Rin is she doing good??

(Debatable, as Rin's head is now firmlyly planted on his desk.) ]

[ ....................

She is suddenly remembering a certain part in her conversation with Father Dragon two days before. ]

This is what... Father Dragon said.

[ That's coming out really, really soft. ]

[ This little dragon is so proud of you :D

Rin sneaks a glance back at Lyall, wondering if she's alright. Not that he doesn't trust Madge with her, it's just that... Madge can get confusing. Sometimes. ]

[ What you'll see then is that she looks incredibly sad.

Father Aidan said that this was his "punishment". ]

[ Okay, that's... not right. Rin leans over again. ]

Hey, what's wrong? Did Madge do anything horrible?

I did not!

[lyall]

[ Shaking her head quietly now and glancing up just a little at you. ]

I just... [ lips pressed together as she remembers how sad Father Dragon had looked ] Father Dragon spoke of this the other day.

[ That's coming out in a soft whisper. ]

Oh... really? [ This deserves a mental head-scratching. ] So, what's the problem? Are there words you don't understand? Is Madge saying big words?

No I wasn't!

[lyall]

[ There's a small wan smile as she notes the way you and Match Madge interact. It must be wonderful, to have her to keep you company here. ]

Father Dragon said that his form was punishment for what he did.

[ Her voice drops a notch. ] I suppose I find it... sad.

He is such a majestic creature. Then again, beauty was never a good thing where I came from.

[ She is thinking of the Fairest, those who had accompanied with their masters as they came to view fights in the Pit. She did not feel envy for them in the least. They each had their burdens to bear. ]

[ Oh... well, that explained a lot. He's read enough now to kind of sympathize-- although, some part of him is calling that survivor's guilt. Aidan Clayce destroyed the Fourth World and made it through to the Fifth World with Riley Falner and Orin. Of course he would feel that it is punishment.

Still, he'll reserve judgement. Feels like he isn't getting the whole picture yet, anyway.

He smiles at Lyall, though, and reaches over to pat her on the head. Still in a whisper, to not disturb everyone around them, he says, ]

Well, you're not there anymore, and you're rightfully pretty on your own, too.

[ o______o pretty much sums up her immediate reaction to the pet on the head. u-u follows shortly after because... that was actually nice. ]

Th... th-thank you.

[ She should... go back to her reading. Human interaction is so confusing, and her face feels suddenly warm. ]
