[CLOSED] Maybe I'm a different breed
WHO: Sophie Morgenstern & Segan Brooke
WHAT: New roomie arrives, Sophie is...mostly neutral.
WHERE: Room #102 on the Balamb Dorms.
WHEN: June 12 2066, sometime relatively early during the day.
SAFE FOR WORK? So far, so good.
OTHER NOTES:
[ Sophie had been notified that she would be getting a roommate before classes started. Now that classes were just around the corner, Sophie was pretty sure she would be getting her roommate that very same day.
The room had always felt a little too big for her to be by herself, but still, she hadn't really done much with it; so far it had been a place to go and sleep at night, or to meditate whenever she wanted to be alone with her thoughts...and Sigma. It was a bit surprising, but in the few weeks they had been together things had gone relatively well. The Bloodsinger was quite the old fashioned gentleman (or so he tried) and Sophie...wasn't, so they had their disagreements now and then, but for the most part the whole thing was starting to feel a lot less weird than it initially did. That had to be good, right?
The other reason for Sophie to be in her room was that she could shed off most of her clothes while in there without having to deal with people staring. She didn't even care about the stares (for the most part), but she had never been too keen to have layer upon layer. It had been easier back with her family, as they paid so little attention to her she could wear whatever she wanted, or didn't want to.
Right now? She's sitting cross-legged on a mat, wearing yoga pants and a sports bra; she could be doing that anywhere else but she was just walking around in her underwear not half an hour ago, so really, it's just better that she stays inside. Sigma has long since accepted the fact his vessel likes to get a little light on clothing now and then, although Sophie still gets the impression the Bloodsinger politely "looks away" whenever she does so. Talk about awkward murderous spirit-like beings.
Whatever, she's trying to keep her mind blank. Blank. Blaaaaaaaaank. Not thinking about anything. At all. Totally blank, yes.
It could be going better. ]

Are you sure?
[ Wow you're kind of really nice. o_o ]
no subject
[ Looking kinda embarrassed right now. ]
Right now Netsach is probably keeping tabs on everything so I would be lying if I told you I can magically make a plane come pick you up later today, but in a few months I should at least be able to access some of it.
Not that I really feel like doing so anymore. Wouldn't say no to a roomie request though.
[ And yet, she should probably inquire about her company and how it's going. ]
no subject
[ And then, remembering... ]
Although I have a feeling that the only time I'll be able to do anything but study will be in December.
[ Because of the program she's enrolled in, of course. ]
no subject
[ Not that Sophie is a bad roomie, but hey, you never know. ]
no subject
[ Grins. ]
I think I can manage.
no subject
[ She was the rich, pretty and strong girl half the school wanted to date. It might have only sucked to Sophie, really. ]
Then I think we're going to get along just fine.
no subject
[ This was already so much better than nearly every year she spent at Big Rock.
Anyway. ]
What Program are you enrolled in here?
no subject
[ She stands up and quickly grabs a pair of jeans, some random bra and a shirt from a drawer, then she enters the bathroom. ]
You?
no subject
[ While she's getting up herself and opening her bags. Might as well unpack now that she has a good feel of the room. ]
That makes us classmates and roommates. That's kind of nice!
no subject
It is pretty nice, and perhaps not completely random. Where do you stand, supernaturally speaking?
no subject
I'm a Technomancer, if that's what you're asking.
no subject
And I'm a Bladian, since we're sharing.
no subject
Oh. [ Huh. ] Bladians are pretty rare. I think you're the first one that I've ever met.
no subject
[ Here, have a ridiculously exaggerated shrug. ]
But I'm a bad example for a Bladian, anyway. Which is why I think I ended up on ASC.
no subject
[ That piques her curiosity, of course. Segan's knowledge of Bladians is pretty much all textbook. ]
If... if you don't mind me asking, anyway.
[ And belatedly realizing that this could be a sensitive topic. Of course, Segan. Of course.
no subject
[ A smaller shrug as she sits on her bed again. ]
It's sort of convoluted and it involves a lot of touchy subjects, that's for sure, but for now let's just say that I didn't have a say in whether I became a Bladian or not. My Bloodsinger- Sigma, he was meant for me, in a way. My lineage and him go way, way, way back.
Intelligence (4) + Occult (1) roll = 4, 6, 8, 8, 8. (3 successes)
That already sounds complicated.
[ Especially since a lot of things weren't adding up compared to what Segan DID know about Bladians. The mention of lineages, in particular, intrigued her.
Granted, she wasn't sure if she could ask. At least not yet. ]
no subject
[ A hand goes over her chest to toy with the necklace she's been wearing all this time. She just gave her the death free, gore free, torture free version of her's and Sigma's lives, after all. ]
But I'd rather touch that subject later, if you don't mind?
no subject
[ She really doesn't want to make things awkward, especially since they just met! ]
Have you gotten your class list for ASC yet?
no subject
[ She printed the thing and stuck it somewhere. Visual evidence sure helped her to remember. She fishes it out from under her bed moments later and hands it over to Segan. ]
Here.
no subject
[ And reading through it. ]
We're classmates in some of these, and I think I know a bit about some of our instructors.
[ This girl does a LOT of reading, ayup. ]
no subject
[ She's not that kind of person. As in, studious. Classes are going to be pure torture to her. ]
So, my turn. Why are you on ASC? Unless it's personal, of course.
no subject
[ She might look sad for just a second now. ]
ASC is the only shot I've got left at becoming a Keeper of the Vigil. My old Academy was pretty horrible, and Netsach was nice enough to put me on the fast track by offering me a slot in the program.
Wits (3) + Composure (4): 8 7 5 9 7 5 8 10 6 6 --> 4 successes!
[ She's sad alright. And Sophie could tell there was more to it, just like with herself. And because of that she wouldn't poke. If Segan ever felt like talking, she would listen, but otherwise she would try to be as correct as possible.
This is Sophie though. ]
Well, we've got our shots. Let's kick ass.
o/
[ And recovering pretty quickly. It oddly becomes easier to talk about each time people ask her. ]
