[Open, Major Event] 12 June 2066

Over the course of the last week, you'll have likely noticed the buzz and excitement that's been building all around Metro Manila -- if you've been around awhile, you know what time of the year it is. If you're new: well, this is an experience you're sure to enjoy.
The festive mood surrounding Philippine Independence Day is hard to miss. Wander around the metropolis and you'll note that the streets are filled with tourists and locals; turn one corner and you'll see parades, turn another and you may be treated to performances set up on strategically placed stages.
As for Falner, the colors of the Philippine flag seem to be everywhere you look: the kids who live or study at the estate are mostly running around with their faces painted. If you wander down towards the Fair Grounds in the South District, there are a couple of booths set up offering anything from body paint and temporary tattoos to local delicacies. West District establishments The King's Rest and Liquidated also have special treats aligned with the theme of the day. There's also talk about the annual street party which will be held over at the Baywalk later this evening, and the younger initiates are abuzz over the yearly light show held over Manila Bay that showcase reenactments of all the major battles all the way up to the Darkest Vigil.
Independence Day is also not all that's being celebrated, because for Keepers of the Vigil and supernatural communities all over the world, today marks the second anniversary of Arcis Fortress City.

[ She probably does, if only because Sophie would find that annoying. That's how the world seems to work when it comes to her. ]
no subject
[ ...Annoying. She's considering moving out of the lake and find somewhere else to be alone now. It's not you, Sophie, it's her.
...Okay, it might be you. ]
no subject
[ Only it kind of does?
Whatever, she's going to slide down the wall and keep to herself. ]
no subject
Yes, it does.
no subject
How so?
no subject
[ :) ]

[ Her braincells are perfectly fit, thank you very much >:| ]
no subject
[ She takes a long, long drag from her cigarette. ]
Like I said. Try exercising your braincells for a bit, hm? Maybe you will figure it out.
no subject
You think that if you talk about it I'll do something stupid and get myself killed, or worse?
[ Maybe it goes that way? ]
no subject
no subject
[ But no, she really wouldn't do much. Not yet anyway. ]
no subject
[ She lets her head fall back to look at you properly (more or less, anyway). Here, have a smile.
Will you leave her alone now? ]
no subject
Dropping the subject.
[ She has more important things to focus on, like the horrible reality of classes beginning in two days time. Now that's a sobering though. ]
no subject
Still. Little victories and all that. ]
no subject
By the way...am I supposed to have a mentor? Nobody has said a thing about it.
[ Sorry Yulia, you looked like you were ready to talk again.
Not really]no subject
You are expected to find one.
[ Although, she was given names when she'd become a Bladian. Names, because, while they were two separate people, you can actually just count them as one unit. ]
no subject
[ Oh, she's so screwed. Her silence makes that much obvious. ]
It needs to be a Bladian, I suppose?
no subject
[ ..... ]
I could give you names, but what will you give me in return?
no subject
Somehow I don't think you're the sort that would be satisfied with eternal gratitude.
no subject
That would be correct.
no subject
[ Oh for fuck's sake. ]
You be my mentor. It's actually kind of genius if you think about it.
no subject
[ No, really, what?? ]
no subject
[ Right? ]
So I know you will push me and work me until I'm half dead. Couldn't ask more for mentor than knowing they won't just do a half assed attempt, really.
[ Totes.
Genius. ]
no subject
So. ]
I suppose I could use some... entertainment every now and then.
[ A pause, then a slight tilt of her head to the side. ] Which program are you with, again? The ASC?
no subject
Yeah, let's call it entertainment. And I'm ASC.
