[CLOSED] and you know i might have just flown (too far from the floor this time)
WHO: Taning Marasigan and Yulia Bostova
WHAT: Somebody's got to ask the hard questions.
WHERE: Balamb Academy training hall
WHEN: 23 December 2065
SAFE FOR WORK? There willdefinitely probably be cussing.
OTHER NOTES: Kinda wish I hadn't forewarned Rika about this.
[He's pretty sure he missed a lot, Taning thinks, as he wends his way through the once-again-lively corridors of Balamb Academy. True, he was the one who wanted to go on the expedition; heck, he dived into the deep end of space-tech research as soon as he was tapped for it.
He's very good at breaking things apart, it just seems fair to build two things for every one he destroys.
But space is a cold, dark, and lonely place. And he misses his wife, and his 5-month-old daughter, and his still-adjusting sister, and his adoptive family, and his blademates. So pretty much everyone. He would have gone to Josh first, after Sabina and Safira, but word from the grapevine (read: Brianna, usually featuring actual vines) tells him of wounds yet unlicked.
So he finds himself leaning cross-armed against the door of the training hall where you are teaching (or, actually, just repeatedly wiping the floor with) some of your students. It's a nice look on you, he thinks, the teacher look, even though you look much the same as you did when he left. He notes how your students look to you with equal parts terror and hero-worship and chuckles to himself, thinking that that kinda look will make you wipe the floor with them even harder.
He'll stay here and watch you with your young'uns. He's missed you too, and there's a lot to catch up on, but he's at least learned, at long last, not to bother you when you're busy with something. He can wait.]

Yes, she's not the nicest teacher. She's ruthless and horrible, and so very hands on that she actually bruised several of her students already. Which is definitely a mark off their final grades. If they can't protect themselves in this class, then they're doing something wrong.
Or she should change her teaching style, but how the fuck would these kids learn, then? Experience was the best teacher, after all.
The class is pretty much her yelling at her students about their bad forms, and shoddy strikes, and misplaced elbows. At least she hasn't cut them up, you would notice, Taning, despite the angry, irritated look and tone of her. She usually has a partner teaching this class, see, and said partner (read: Joshua LaRue) is currently absent. Rather, he's flown his sorry ass back to the US (again) because he is an idiot.
But what does she know, she didn't die twice.
When her class is over, she dismisses the class and waits for everyone to leave the training hall first, before flipping her hair over her shoulder and marching to where you've settled yourself. ]
Maybe I should have called you over and made an example for the children. [ Yeah, that's her greeting. ] Back early for Christmas?

Someone should teach them that running away is an acceptable defense mechanism. Yeah, I'm back early. Where's your training dummy?
[He means Joshua.]
no subject
And then she linefaces at the mention of the training dummy. ]
He's fled the country. Again. [ She gives a tight-lipped smile and crosses her arms. ] So obviously, if you are looking for him, you are in the wrong country.
no subject
All the same, that means that he is surprised at what Yulia tells him.]
... He's with his baby siblings, then.
[The implicit "Instead of being with Hikaru" rings very clearly from his tone.]
no subject
[ That was a growl, you heard right. ]
Was that all?
no subject
You are pissed off. Mind telling me about that?
[Except from the sound of it, he knows exactly why: he just needs to hear you put it. Probably to make a point, because Taning and logic sometimes.]

[Cutting through your anger like he doesn't acknowledge it, uh-oh.]

How far back do you want to go? [ She starts walking out of the room, now. She'd rather not be here when you talk about this.
Besides, she's more annoyed than pissed. And this is a matter between Hounds. ]
no subject
And he really wants to get where you're coming from here.]
From the beginning, wherever you think that is.
[Trying to be neutral still...]
no subject
[ She's absently fingering the hilt of one of her blades by her hip as she walks. ]
You remember how he first ran away, a year ago, correct? And left the command of the Hounds to me?
